Officials have released information on the deaths of three attendees at this year’s Burning Man festival in Nevada. According to KOLO 8 News, citing the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, the causes included cardiovascular disease and drug toxicity.

The festival, taking place annually in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, occurred from August 30 to September 7. All three fatalities were recorded during the event.

A 62-year-old man from Santa Monica, California, died on September 3 at the festival’s Rampart Medical Center. His death was attributed to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Another attendee, a 51-year-old from Truckee, California, died on September 4 in an ambulance after experiencing chest pain. Methamphetamine and MDMA toxicity, heart disease, and Type 2 diabetes were identified as causes, with chronic methamphetamine use also a factor.

The third individual, aged 60, from Yuma, Arizona, was found deceased in his vehicle. His cause of death was related to cocaine and methamphetamine toxicity, with cardiovascular disease being a contributing factor.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office for further details. The Burning Man festival, characterized by communal effort, self-reliance, and self-expression, draws tens of thousands of participants to create Black Rock City.

The event concludes with the burning of a large wooden effigy known as “the Man.” Burning Man organizers expressed their condolences to the victims’ families, noting the deaths initially seemed natural but urged waiting for official findings from medical authorities.

“We ask that people focus on the individuals’ contributions and avoid speculating on the circumstances out of respect,” the organization stated.
