Jon Gosselin, previously seen on ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’, has revealed he has not communicated with most of his children for over ten years. He shared how his relationships, especially with six of his children, have become so distant they feel like ‘perfect strangers.’
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, when asked about his last conversation with them, Gosselin admitted, “I haven’t talked to them.” The reality series aired from 2007 to 2009 and documented the lives of Jon, Kate Gosselin, and their sextuplets, alongside their twin daughters, before their marriage ended in divorce. Following its conclusion, the show rebranded as “Kate Plus 8,” continuing until 2017 to focus solely on Kate.
The couple, who share twins Mady and Cara and sextuplets Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden, and Collin, announced their divorce on the show. In 2018, Collin and Hannah chose to live with Jon. Collin then ceased communication with his siblings, whereas Hannah maintained contact with her mother. “I haven’t personally talked to them,” Gosselin stated, “Of course, I want to. It’s not about the book, it’s about knowing how they are.” His son Collin, in contrast, has made significant allegations against Kate, claiming she restrained and hit him.
Collin’s revelations are detailed in his memoir, ‘In The Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood’. In it, Collin accuses his mother of institutionalizing him against his will. Gosselin, expressing his hopes for reconciliation, said he tried to communicate publicly and privately and emphasized his love for his children. “Please read your brother’s book,” he urged, “Understand and form your opinions based on all the information available.”
Amid these revelations, Kate has responded by engaging with supportive comments on social media. On TikTok, she thanked fans who praised her strength and character amidst these allegations. “I know who I am, and my kids know who I truly am,” she wrote, highlighting the importance of personal integrity.
