Life-saving organs, including the “gift of sight,” were donated by Katie Suarez, a jogger tragically killed in Brooklyn. Her donations benefited three New Yorkers and one Florida resident, aged between 12 and 75. This was revealed by officials on Sunday.

Leonard Achan, the president and CEO of LiveOnNY, expressed gratitude for being entrusted with these “precious gifts of life,” ensuring that Kate’s legacy endures. “Ms. Suarez saved the lives of four people with five of her organs”, he said in a statement to The Post.

Katie Suarez was fatally stabbed on October 30 while jogging. The incident occurred on the Shore Parkway Greenway. Suarez was on her way to meet her parents when she was attacked. The alleged attacker, Sayed Mohassib, is an ex-NYPD Officer and a Brooklyn elementary school paraprofessional.

“LiveOnNY ensured that Katie’s gifts of life were successfully transplanted to four recipients. Three recipients were in New York and one was in Florida.”

The organization mentioned that she donated her heart, both kidneys, a liver, and a pancreas. She also donated her corneas to give recipients the “gift of sight.”

Suarez, a 28-year-old bank teller and Brooklyn College graduate, lost her life in this random attack. Law enforcement sources suggest that the suspect, 27-year-old Mohassib, allegedly acted on delusional fears that his family was under threat. He reportedly went to the Bath Beach promenade armed with a knife.
