President Trump recently conveyed that a peace agreement with Iran is nearing completion. On social media, he remarked that the deal has been “largely negotiated,” though some aspects remain under discussion.
Trump informed CBS News of significant progress in the negotiations. Insiders revealed that the current proposal suggests reopening the Strait of Hormuz, unfreezing Iranian assets, and continuing talks. However, Trump did not disclose further specifics, citing that he must communicate details to involved parties first.
The president expressed confidence that a final agreement would prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. If an agreement is reached, Iran’s enriched uranium would be managed appropriately. Trump stated he is committed to securing a deal that meets all U.S. expectations.
While Trump is evaluating proposals, he has yet to finalize his decision. He has been consulting with advisers and engaging with foreign leaders.
Trump engaged in a conference call with leaders from Gulf countries and other nations, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Qatar. A regional official indicated that uncertainty remains over which option Trump might pursue.
Trump warned that without an agreement, Iran would face severe consequences. He previously issued similar threats, indicating potential devastation without a deal.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned possible updates on the negotiations, indicating progress while attending a dinner at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India. He stressed the urgency of resolving the issue.
