Stephanie Pratt has shifted her stance and now supports her brother Spencer Pratt’s campaign for Los Angeles mayor. Previously, she characterized a vote for him as a “vote for stupidity.” In an email to Vanity Fair, she acknowledged her mistake, stating, “I was wrong. He has actively pursued the facts and addressed negligence following the fires.”
Earlier in the year, Stephanie criticized Spencer in since-deleted online posts. She expressed concerns about the suitability of his candidacy, arguing that Los Angeles requires qualified leadership. “Spencer has done great work for the Palisades, but LA does not need an unqualified mayor,” she wrote. Stephanie accused Spencer of seeking fame and promoting his memoir. She imagined an ideal scenario in which the Palisades had its own leadership.
Despite pressure to support her brother, Stephanie remained wary. She referenced a past incident, stating, “Sorry he beat me up when I was 18 & put me in the hospital. Run the Palisades all you want not LA.” Her reservations were clear: “Leopards never change their spots. Stay in the Palisades Spencer.”
Spencer Pratt announced his candidacy in January, marking the anniversary of losing his home in the Palisades Fire. Since then, he has gained support as an anti-establishment candidate. Recent polls indicate a closely contested race with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and City Council member Nithya Raman.
Spencer’s campaign has attracted notable endorsements from figures like Paris Hilton, Dennis Quaid, Katharine McPhee, and David Foster. With the primary election nearing, the outcome remains uncertain. Fox News Digital sought comments from Spencer Pratt’s campaign but has yet to receive a response.
