Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that the 2026 NFL season will be his last, ending speculation and providing clarity for the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Wednesday, he made it clear that this would be his final year in the league, addressing the uncertainties that hovered over the offseason. When questioned by reporters, Rodgers unequivocally stated, ‘This is it, yep.’

Rodgers’ Impressive Career

Throughout his career, Rodgers has solidified his status as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. His accomplishments are extensive and include 10 Pro Bowl selections and five All-Pro selections. He has won four league MVP awards and a Super Bowl, earning a Super Bowl MVP along the way. Rodgers has also twice led the league in touchdown passes and four times in passer rating. Notably, he was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

The quarterback possesses multiple NFL records: the highest career passer rating at 102.2, the best career touchdown-to-interception ratio of 4.3-1, and the lowest career interception percentage of 1.4%. Additionally, he holds the record for the highest single-season passer rating of 122.5 and the most consecutive passes without an interception, at 402.

Rodgers ranks fifth in all-time passing yards with 66,274 and is fourth in touchdown passes with 527. He could potentially surpass Peyton Manning, who has 539, for third place by the end of next season.

Off-Field Controversies

Away from the field, Rodgers remains a figure of public interest for various reasons. His involvement in ayahuasca retreats and outspoken views on the COVID-19 vaccine garnered attention. He experienced a backlash for claiming he was immunized but later contracting the virus. Rodgers was fined by the NFL for attending a Halloween event while unvaccinated.

Further controversies include a possible legal issue regarding comments made about Jimmy Kimmel’s supposed involvement in the Epstein files, and unfounded claims of being Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate in the 2024 presidential race. His personal relationships also became public fodder; former partners Danica Patrick and Shailene Woodley made critical remarks about him, and his family estrangement was highlighted on ‘The Bachelorette.’

The controversies have undoubtedly marked the latter part of his career, with his off-field actions sometimes overshadowing his football achievements. These issues might impact how fans and historians view his overall legacy.
