Bret Michaels announced a temporary pause in his touring schedule. Doctors have advised the musician to take time off following recent surgeries.
After his return performance at The Bowl at Sugar Hill in Georgia, Michaels’ physicians determined he requires a period of rest. According to a statement on his Facebook page, Dr. Abby Borhan and Dr. Patel emphasized the necessity of this break. They cited the summer heat and its impact on his blood sugar levels as additional reasons for concern.
This decision means Michaels will miss his remaining 2026 tour dates, including events at The Mountain Music Festival. Michaels Entertainment Group expressed their apologies for the canceled performances and a hopeful outlook for Michaels’ future return.
In July, Michaels informed fans about his recovery from a procedure to remove a stubborn kidney stone. He shared his gratitude toward medical professionals who assisted during his recovery. Despite intense pain, Michaels managed to perform in locations like Charleston, WV, and Grantville, PA, before seeking further medical care.
After being hospitalized, he assured followers that the operation was successful and expressed his commitment to resuming performances once fully healthy. Michaels’ openness about his health challenges, including Type 1 diabetes, has been a constant in his career.
In 2010, Michaels experienced a brain hemorrhage and a subsequent heart procedure. He credits his support system and eagerness to return to the stage with aiding his past recoveries.
