The Austin Police Department reported a shocking incident involving a man dressed as a zombie who allegedly stabbed two individuals at The Buzz Mill, a coffee shop in Austin, Texas. The events unfolded Wednesday night, just before a comedy show was set to begin at the venue.
Identified as Shankar Temple Grace, 20, the suspect reportedly fled the scene in a pickup truck. He crashed into an unoccupied autonomous vehicle during his escape. Police launched a search and later found Grace on a walking trail about three miles from the café.
“The situation was classified as a ‘disturbance hot shot’, indicating a rapidly escalating altercation posing an immediate threat,” said APD.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered one victim with life-threatening injuries and another with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
Witnesses informed police that Grace had created a disturbance at the bar before the stabbing incident. He was wearing a Halloween zombie costume, complete with facial makeup, during the attack.
Grace was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—considered a second-degree felony. He is being held in the Travis County Jail.
