Deadly Shooting at Seattle’s Bite of Seattle Festival: New 911 Calls and Investigation Details

Newly obtained 911 calls have provided more information on the deadly shooting incident at Seattle’s Bite of Seattle festival. The calls capture the urgent response from first responders as they rushed to assist multiple victims.

I’m losing blood,

a victim who had been shot in the back told a dispatcher. The caller, unaware of the shooter’s identity, expressed confusion about the situation:

I don’t know who did it. I took cover. I see the officers down here.

The dispatcher aimed to keep the wounded individual calm as assistance was directed toward the water fountain location:

It’s OK. Just breathe. Breathe with me. I’m going to stay with you.

The caller later mentioned being in the company of an officer. Other communications revealed dispatchers and first responders evaluating the extent of the violence near the Seattle Center Armory.

When asked if anyone had been shot, aid units were requested:

A 15-year-old suspect had been detained amid the shooting. The incident occurred last month outside the Seattle Center Armory during the festival near the Space Needle. It resulted in three deaths and four injuries, including a 2-year-old boy.

The deceased were identified as a 19-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman, who succumbed to her injuries in a hospital. Mayor Wilson called the shooting:

Initially, two gunmen were suspected, but later court documents suggested the detained teen and an acquaintance, found dead at the scene, may have exchanged gunfire with another unidentified suspect.
