Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a plan to facilitate voting among military personnel. He was assigned this task by the president to guarantee that military votes are counted in the upcoming election.
Hegseth has implemented a one-day stand-down across the entire military. This initiative, scheduled for October, allows troops to cast their votes either via mail-in ballots or in person.
In his State of the Force address given in Virginia earlier this week, Hegseth emphasized the importance of each vote. Ensuring that every service member has the opportunity to participate in the electoral process is a priority for the Defense Department.
