Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has been outspoken about the economic challenges facing the country. During a recent rally in Detroit, El-Sayed took aim at President Donald Trump’s economic strategies. He specifically cited what he described as Trump’s ‘mismanagement’ and its impact on the global bond market.
El-Sayed pointed to a global sell-off of bonds as a consequence of Trump’s policies. He argued that traders are reacting based on the belief that Trump’s decisions, including a ‘war of choice’ and ongoing trade conflicts, are driving costs higher. These pressures, according to El-Sayed, are also influencing the Federal Reserve’s actions. He accused Trump of urging the Fed to neglect its responsibilities, particularly in light of the inflationary pressures stemming from these policies.
El-Sayed’s remarks come in a time of heightened tension as the Michigan Senate race intensifies. Vice President JD Vance had earlier contributed to the charged atmosphere, highlighting the contentious nature of the campaign in Michigan.
