Enes Kanter Freedom Ejected During WNBA Game

Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom was removed from Wintrust Arena in Chicago during a WNBA game on August 23, 2026. The ejection followed a verbal confrontation with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud. Indiana Fever led with an 81-75 score during the third quarter when Cloud addressed Freedom, seated courtside.

Freedom responded by stepping toward the court, prompting security to intervene. The crowd reacted with boos as the 11-year NBA veteran was escorted out. On social media, Freedom commented: “I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!” He added: “It’s always women hating on other women.”

Freedom had arrived wearing a shirt defining “woman,” a statement Cloud apparently found offensive. Cloud had previously criticized America, leading Freedom to offer her tickets to China, Russia, or Turkey for a different perspective.

When asked, Sky’s Azura Stevens declined to comment on Freedom’s removal, stating that security handled the situation.

Before the ejection, Freedom stirred reactions by referring to an arena restroom break in a social media post: “It’s halftime and I need to use the restroom… Rules are rules @WNBA.”

Additionally, progressive fans clashed with Freedom outside the arena, necessitating security intervention. This encounter was also shared by Freedom online, claiming: “We are getting attacked before the @WNBA game in Chicago.”

Freedom continues to support female athletes and remains vocal about WNBA policies. Security’s response at the Wintrust game has raised questions on his future attendance.

The Indiana Fever secured a 113-90 victory over Chicago Sky.
