A tragic event occurred in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood where a 64-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run collision. The incident took place early Sunday morning.
According to local authorities, the victim was a passenger in a dark-colored SUV. This vehicle was traveling north on South Stony Island Avenue when, at approximately 2:42 a.m., it was impacted by a dark-colored sedan. The driver of the sedan left the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot.
Emergency personnel arrived at the location, but the woman was declared deceased at the site of the crash. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in this incident.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation into the collision is still ongoing as police work to identify the responsible driver.
