Elaine Angene Escoe, a fugitive since May 2025, was captured in Jamaica. She had been living under the alias ‘Harley Newman.’ The FBI brought her back to the U.S. for fraud charges. FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the success of the ‘Most Wanted Fraudster’ list, marking Escoe as the fourth capture in five weeks.
In a separate case, Los Angeles influencer Adva Lavie, also known as Mia Ventura, is back in custody. She allegedly removed her ankle monitor while awaiting trial for felony burglary.
Authorities arrested Lavie in Beverly Hills. She had been released with an electronic monitor but allegedly violated terms by removing it. A judge revoked her release, denied bail, and set a bail hearing in Van Nuys.
Prosecutors charged Lavie in Riverside County with felony grand theft. They accused her of taking over $11,000 in luxury items at the 2025 Coachella Festival. She allegedly skipped her May arraignment, leading to a $20,000 arrest warrant. She remains unbooked in Riverside County with no scheduled arraignment.
The Riverside accusation involved stealing a Rolex watch, Louis Vuitton Aviator sunglasses, and a Louis Vuitton cardholder from a male acquaintance at Coachella. Surveillance at the Airbnb captured the alleged theft.
Lavie also faces accusations of a dating app burglary spree across Southern California. Prosecutors claim she used dating platforms to gain trust and access to wealthy victims’ homes, stealing cash, gold, and designer items.
Lavie faces six felony charges, including grand theft and first-degree residential burglary. Prosecutors aim to prove she misused relationships to steal from victims.
If convicted, Lavie may face up to 11 years and eight months in state prison.
