Feds Intensify Efforts Against Voter Fraud Pre-Midterms

Federal authorities are taking strong action against voter fraud in the lead-up to the midterm elections. Homeland Security agents are stepping up arrests of immigrants accused of engaging in voter fraud. In a recent case, a Philippine-born noncitizen residing in Pennsylvania, Evelyn Miller, 37, admitted guilt to unlawfully voting in the 2024 election. Federal prosecutors revealed that Miller, a lawful permanent resident but not a U.S. citizen, registered to vote just weeks before Election Day. Only U.S. citizens are permitted to vote in federal elections.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and FBI agents questioned Miller at her residence in July 2025. She explained that she registered online before the election and then voted in person at her polling place in Emmaus. Miller gained her lawful permanent resident status on July 19, 2024, during President Biden’s administration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initiated their investigation of Miller following a tip about potential illegal voter registration in Lehigh County. Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated, “This alien from the Philippines pleaded guilty to illegally voting in the 2024 election in Pennsylvania. Thanks to the diligence of HSI and our Justice Department partners, this alien will soon face justice for attempting to undermine our electoral process. Elections in the United States are exclusively for Americans.”

HSI collaborated with the FBI on this case as part of a broader initiative led by the Justice Department to handle election-related cases from 2024. Federal prosecutors announced charges against 16 individuals across various states for voting illegally and other related election crimes.

Miller’s sentencing is scheduled for December 16. She could face up to one year in prison, a year of supervised release, and a fine of $100,000, according to federal prosecutors.
