PEOPLE has the exclusive release of the trailer for Get Huge: Looksmaxxing to Death, a three-part docuseries debuting on Hulu on Nov. 10. The series promises to reveal dark truths associated with looksmaxxing. This ideology, predominantly followed by young men, advocates for going to great lengths to enhance one’s physical appearance.
The docuseries focuses on Tony Huge, legally known as Anthony Hughes, a fitness influencer and early proponent of looksmaxxing content. He offers “biohacking” tips to help his followers increase muscle mass.
The series also highlights the tragic story surrounding biohacker Leo Longevity, who frequently collaborated with Hughes. Tragically, Longevity was discovered deceased in Thailand in 2023, casting a shadow over the looksmaxxing community.
What begins as a window into manosphere culture gradually becomes a story about the communities, ideologies, and personalities shaping modern masculinity.
Additionally, the series features biohacker Connor Murphy, Hughes’s close associate, who died in an apparent drowning in July. The Bangkok Post reported that unused syringes and white pills were found with Murphy.
Filmmaker Lee shared in an interview with Vanity Fair that Murphy’s death, occurring after the series wrapped, deeply impacted the team. Lee emphasized the importance of portraying Murphy’s complexities beyond his untimely passing.
Looksmaxxing has recently gained scrutiny, partly due to the rise of another content creator, Clavicular. Known as a figurehead of the looksmaxxing movement, Clavicular has undertaken extreme measures to alter his appearance. His methods include utilizing non-approved anabolic steroids, engaging in hazardous substance use to control appetite, and applying weights to modify bodily features, alongside dangerous physical alterations.
Get Huge: Looksmaxxing to Death will be available for streaming on Hulu on Nov. 10.
