Injury Update: DJ Moore’s Status for Upcoming Bills Game

46 minutes ago 0

The Buffalo Bills have received encouraging news regarding wide receiver DJ Moore following their narrow 29–26 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday. During the second quarter, Moore sustained a shoulder injury after a fall during an attempted pass from quarterback Josh Allen. This same shoulder was already a concern as Moore had injured it previously in Week 2.

Despite the injury, Moore had not missed any games but had been limited in practice. The main concern after Sunday’s game was that this setback might prevent Moore from participating in upcoming matches, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the injury does not appear to be a long-term issue at present.

This development is promising for both Moore and the Bills, as it suggests the receiver might play in Week 5. The team benefits from an additional day of rest this week, as their next game against the Los Angeles Rams is scheduled for “Monday Night Football.” Moore’s participation will be crucial against the Rams, who have shown inconsistent performances recently.

Moore had been the leading receiver for the Bills over the first three weeks of the season, securing 11 receptions for 167 yards. However, after Moore’s early exit on Sunday, Keon Coleman took the lead as the team’s top receiver, reaching 217 yards for the season.

Coleman now has an opportunity to make an impact, potentially addressing past criticisms from Bills’ owner Terry Pegula. In the 2024 draft, Coleman’s selection sparked controversy based on his on-field performance, which led to him being inactive in several games last season. With Moore joining the team from the Chicago Bears in the offseason, Coleman had limited chances to shine. This scenario provides Coleman the chance to prove himself as a capable second receiver, complementing Moore as Josh Allen’s offensive target.
