Investigation Continues After Concertgoer’s Death at Warped Tour in Long Beach

3 days ago 0

Police are investigating the death of a man who attended the Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 26. The man, identified as David Granado Jr., passed away in a hospital several days after the event.

The Long Beach Police Department reported the incident and noted they were contacted on July 29 when Granado was in critical condition at a local hospital. He had been taken there by a private medical company after attending the popular punk music festival. A preliminary investigation by the police found no signs of foul play, though a more thorough investigation is ongoing.

Granado’s family initiated a GoFundMe campaign, stating that he suffered a traumatic brain injury at the event. They are working to understand the circumstances leading up to his hospitalization. The Los Angeles County medical examiner has been tasked with determining the exact cause of death.

Representatives for the Vans Warped Tour have not yet provided comments on the incident. The tour, a staple in punk, ska, and rock music, returned last year for its 30th anniversary. Upcoming events are scheduled in Montreal, Mexico City, and Orlando, with plans to revisit Washington, D.C., and Long Beach next year.

The police department has emphasized their commitment to uncover if any criminal activity occurred related to this tragic incident.
