Authorities in Chicago are examining the events that led to the tragic death of a one-year-old girl in the West Ridge area. The young child was discovered unresponsive, bearing visible injuries on her lower body, at a residence on the 2600 block of West Rosemont Avenue. This was around 11:40 a.m., as stated by Chicago police.
Emergency services transported her to St. Francis Hospital located in Evanston. Sadly, she was declared deceased shortly after arrival. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Maombi Joyeuse. An autopsy is planned to take place on Sunday.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has not released details but assured that it will collaborate with the police in their investigation, following the autopsy results.
