Jay-Z Poised as Favorite for Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show

The NFL and Roc Nation have not made an official announcement regarding the next Super Bowl halftime performer. Yet, predictions from major markets suggest Jay-Z as the likely headliner for Super Bowl LXI in February 2027. Jay-Z, who founded Roc Nation, has played a significant role in selecting and co-producing the halftime show since 2020.

As of Tuesday morning, the prediction markets Kalshi and Polymarket show strong odds favoring Jay-Z. At Kalshi, users believe there is about a 91% chance of him headlining. Polymarket’s odds are even higher. Jay-Z was seen ahead of the World Cup round of 16 soccer match between Brazil and Norway in East Rutherford, N.J., near New York, on July 5, 2026.

Other potential headliners include Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, Post Malone, and Dua Lipa, but they trail behind Jay-Z in popularity among users. It’s essential to note these prediction markets, like traditional stock markets, restrict insider trading.

A report from Puck suggests Jay-Z might have chosen himself as the halftime performer. Multiple unnamed sources back this claim. Despite never headlining a Super Bowl halftime show, Jay-Z remains a major figure as a top-selling artist and founder of the entertainment company responsible for selecting acts.

The NFL has yet to verify these predictions. Typically, halftime show performers are announced months before the event. Bad Bunny, who headlined Super Bowl LX in 2026, was announced in September 2025. Similarly, Kendrick Lamar for Super Bowl LIX in 2025 was announced in September 2024.

Insiders agree on who decides the performer. Jesse Collins, co-producer of the event, emphasized in a Variety interview that the decision is Jay-Z’s responsibility. “It’s a decision that Jay makes,” Collins said. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!”

The announcement from the NFL is anticipated soon.
