Jacobs has been charged with two misdemeanors by the Brown County District Attorney, which could result in fines up to $20,000 or a prison sentence of up to 18 months if convicted.
The charges against Jacobs include one count of battery and one count of criminal damage to property, according to court records in Wisconsin. Each charge carries a potential nine-month jail sentence.
District Attorney David L. Lasee formally charged Jacobs three months after his arrest, following thorough investigations into the incident that occurred near Green Bay. His attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld, and Clarence F. Duchac III, released a statement acknowledging the reduced charges while respecting the legal process.
The NFL is closely monitoring the situation due to its policy on negative publicity and personal conduct. Regardless of the legal outcome, Jacobs may face league discipline, which does not require waiting for trial results.
The Green Bay Packers, led by General Manager Brian Gutekunst, are preparing for potential consequences, including a suspension in the 2026 season.
