A federal judge in New York has ruled against the indefinite pause implemented by the Trump administration, which affected nationals from 75 countries globally. This decision contravened antidiscrimination protections.
The ruling mandates the U.S. government to resume processing visas for individuals from these countries. The administration had labeled these individuals as potential “public charges.”
This decision curtails one of the administration’s recent attempts to limit legal immigration routes to the United States. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have been leading this initiative.
