Keith Sonderling Nominated as Full-Time Labor Secretary

1 month ago 0

President Donald Trump has named Keith Sonderling as his choice for the full-time position of Labor Secretary. Sonderling has already been serving as the acting secretary, overseeing the department’s activities.

Before Sonderling, the position was held by former Republican Congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer. Her tenure ended after little more than a year. She resigned following allegations of civil rights violations and an inappropriate relationship with an employee. Additionally, reports surfaced that she was rarely present in the office. Chavez-DeRemer has denied these allegations and insists on her innocence.

Sonderling’s experience and familiarity with the department’s operations make him a strong candidate for the role. He has maintained the department’s functionality during his time as acting secretary, positioning himself as an appropriate choice for the permanent appointment.

The decision to elevate Sonderling to the full position reflects a need for stability and effective management within the Labor Department. His prior experience and track record in the acting role have supported his nomination for a more permanent position.
