Kristaps Porzingis expressed gratitude towards NBA fans for their support as he deals with health issues. The Golden State Warriors player is currently out indefinitely with an undisclosed condition. Despite his absence, he took the opportunity to address online speculation, particularly unfounded rumors suggesting serious illnesses.
Porzingis has not participated in the Warriors’ training camp. With the regular season starting soon, fans are eager to understand the nature of his health challenges. However, the details remain confidential.
On social media, Porzingis addressed his situation, saying, “I’m working with doctors and experts to regain full health. Improvements are underway.” He shared his determination to overcome these challenges, despite past injuries adding to his struggles. “Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support,” he added.
Porzingis also commented on the internet speculations, stating, “I appreciate all the input from internet doctors, but I’m in good hands. No, I don’t have HIV or AIDS.”
This offseason, Porzingis signed a $40 million extension with the Warriors. The team was informed of his health concerns. Of the $20 million due this season, $3 million is guaranteed. Two years ago, he faced an upper respiratory virus with the Boston Celtics, affecting his court performance. Last season, he played 34 games with both the Atlanta Hawks and Warriors.
Coach Steve Kerr and Rick Celebrini, Warriors’ sports medicine director, remain in contact with Porzingis as he manages his health issues. Until Porzingis chooses to disclose more details, speculation will persist. His priority is returning to full health and rejoining the team.
