Lamar Jackson Faces Crucial Year in NFL

1 hour ago 0

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is approaching a significant year in his NFL career. At 29, he acknowledges the urgency of his situation. In a conversation with CBS Sports’ Evan Washburn, Jackson remarked, “Going into Year 9, it’s like, man, time is ticking. You’re only getting older. I’m not getting younger. I’m seeing a lot of different new faces into the league and different guys we’re surrounded with.” He emphasized, “Time is ticking, and the urgency is always high level. Once I get one [Super Bowl ring], it’s still going to be urgent to get another.”

Jackson needs his receivers to overcome his playoff difficulties. He expressed this by bonding with teammates Zay Flowers and Ja’Kobi Lane. They shared a moment on a roller coaster at the Mall of America, an event captured in a video Jackson posted to his Instagram Story. Although the video showed them disappearing from the frame when the coaster dropped, their screams and laughter were audible.

The Ravens are in Minnesota for a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings. This practice precedes their preseason game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Saturday.

Jackson holds accolades such as two-time NFL MVP and three-time All-Pro, but his last season was marred by injuries, limiting his play to 13 games. Baltimore’s record of 8-9 led to missing the playoffs and resulted in the firing of head coach John Harbaugh. Replacing Harbaugh is Jesse Minter, the former defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. Minter faces immense pressure to deliver significant victories.

The Ravens will start their pursuit of a Super Bowl title against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Sept. 13.
