Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson may miss his second consecutive game due to an ankle injury. The team has not yet officially ruled out the two-time NFL MVP, but the outlook is not favorable for the game against the Cleveland Browns.
Jackson was absent from Thursday’s practice, and The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec suggested that the 29-year-old’s status for Sunday is “pretty obvious.” The Ravens currently lead the AFC North with a 4-1 record, while the Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers trail closely at 3-2.
The upcoming road game against Cleveland is a key matchup, followed by a Week 7 home game against the Bengals, marking their first two AFC North contests this season. Baltimore’s lone loss occurred in Week 2 against the 1-4 New Orleans Saints.
Jackson, a Louisville alum and four-time Pro Bowler, has faced injury challenges in recent years. He missed five games in both 2021 and 2022 and four games last season. In his first four games this fall, Jackson achieved a league-best 119.6 passer rating, completing 68 of 96 passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He also has 19 rushing attempts for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley is a familiar face for Ravens fans. He spent his initial four NFL seasons with Baltimore before starting five games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024. Huntley rejoined the Ravens in August 2025.
The undrafted Huntley, 28, has a 67.1% completion rate with 3,476 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions over 32 career games, including 17 starts. In Week 5, Huntley guided the Ravens to an overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons on “Sunday Night Football,” completing 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns without interceptions.
