Progress in Search for Noah’s Ark in Turkey

47 minutes ago 0

A team investigating the Durupınar Formation in Turkey has completed phase one of their mission to search for Noah’s Ark. This U.S.-based group, named Noah’s Ark Scans, collaborates with international archaeologists, geologists, and soil scientists. They aim to determine if these formations hold remains of the biblical vessel.

Having begun drilling last month, the team has since collected samples they are testing for traces of wood. Their efforts aim to challenge previous studies that identified the structure as entirely natural rock.

Recently, the group unveiled a 3D model of the formation, created using ground-penetrating radar data. The model showcases the current condition of what they believe may be the ark.

The announcement comes just before the launch of phase two, which will expand on phase one’s work. According to founder Andrew Jones, the focus will be on geophysical survey technologies not applied in the previous phase and on areas where core drilling was not performed.

Adjustments to the scope of phase two could occur once laboratory analyses of the collected soil samples are reviewed. The team expects these test results and reports to be available by April or May of the following year.

This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
