Rahm Emanuel Calls for Conditional U.S. Support for Israel

1 month ago 0

Rahm Emanuel, the former Chicago mayor and White House chief of staff, is in Tel Aviv to deliver a significant message. Exploring a potential 2028 presidential run, Emanuel emphasizes the need to end unconditional U.S. support for Israel.

Emanuel asserts that continued American backing at its current level requires Israel to make substantial adjustments. He calls for the re-evaluation of Palestinian sovereignty and a departure from the idea of annexing the entire West Bank.

In his upcoming speech, Emanuel criticizes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for isolating the nation. He accuses Netanyahu’s government of leading Israel into an impasse, viewing military actions as the sole solution to security issues.

Emanuel states, “Strategic isolation is not a foundation for security. It’s a countdown clock.” With waning support for Israel in the U.S., particularly among Democrats, Emanuel seeks to balance the pro-Israel right and the anti-Israel left.
