The university will not host an official event. Instead, Turning Point USA will organize a memorial at UVU’s UCCU Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on September 10. Anderson emphasized the need for people to have a personal space to heal, acknowledging various approaches to grieving.

A potential permanent memorial is under consideration. A group of board members and students are engaging in discussions to determine its form. This process involves gathering input from varied voices, ensuring a thoughtful tribute to Kirk.

Tyler Robinson, accused of assassinating Kirk, has pleaded not guilty. His arraignment occurred on September 1, and he is due back in court on October 23. The judge may set a trial date at that time. If found guilty of aggravated murder, Robinson could face the death penalty.
