Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson retired on Wednesday. His wife, Ciara, responded emotionally to his announcement.

Ciara, known for her music career, has been with Wilson for nearly ten years. She reflected on their shared journey. “The best in the world! There’s only one, 3!” she shared online, referring to Wilson’s jersey number.

“Always so proud of you!” she added, expressing her admiration. “It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!” she concluded, using a goat emoji and a heart-shaped hands emoji.

Ciara has four children; three are with Wilson. Her first child, Future, is from her previous relationship with rapper Future.

Wilson’s retirement comes after reports of him joining CBS Sports as an analyst. “As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and ‘The NFL Today,’ I feel blessed to continue doing what I love most – being around the greatest game in the world,” Wilson stated in his retirement video.

He expressed gratitude to his family and friends for support throughout his NFL career, especially to Ciara. “Thank you, C. I thank you, Ciara, for being my greatest blessing, my best friend, and my partner through it all. None of this journey called life would have been the same without you,” Wilson said.

The ten-time Pro Bowl quarterback was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of NC State. He played ten seasons there, winning a championship by defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Seahawks traded Wilson to the Broncos before the 2022 season, but he couldn’t replicate his earlier success. After two seasons, the Broncos released him. Wilson then played a season each with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants before retiring.

Over 14 seasons and 205 games, Wilson recorded a 121-80-1 career record, completed 64.6% of his passes for 46,966 yards, with 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions.
