1 day ago 0

Southwest Airlines will enhance its service with 11 new nonstop international routes starting in November. This expansion offers travelers more options for tropical destinations.

New Service from Las Vegas

On November 1, Southwest will introduce nonstop flights from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas to Puerto Vallarta. The airline currently operates over 40% of flights from this airport.

Upcoming Routes from Nashville

In early 2027, flights will commence from Nashville International Airport to various destinations. Nonstop flights to Liberia start in February, followed by Aruba in March. Service to Nassau, Bahamas, will begin soon. A recent increase of 11.8% in travel demand to Liberia highlights a growing interest, despite a Level 2 travel advisory. U.S. travelers must obtain a visa for Liberia according to the Department of State.

Additional Nashville Services

Nashville will also see nonstop flights to Nassau and Providenciales in June. Southwest will be the sole airline offering direct flights for these routes.

Austin-Bergstrom Airport Expansions

Southwest will add four international routes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. In March, service to San José, Costa Rica, will begin. Flights to Liberia, Punta Cana, and Nassau are scheduled for June.

New Routes from Columbus and Pittsburgh

Direct flights from Columbus and Pittsburgh to Punta Cana will start in March and June, respectively. This offers more options to reach Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Company Overview

Since its first flight on June 18, 1971, from Dallas to San Antonio and Houston, Southwest has grown into the world’s largest low-cost carrier. It operates various models of the Boeing 737, with the 737 MAX 8 as the latest addition.
