However, his decision to celebrate by jumping on the goalpost drew a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn later confirmed that he intended to go for two points if not for the penalty incurred by Diggs’ celebration. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, “You just gotta be smarter. We gotta know situations, situational football. That’s on me for not reiterating that in the huddle. We just gotta be smart. There’s a time and place for everything.”

Despite the setback, Diggs acknowledged his responsibility for the penalty after the game. The Commanders had another chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter but failed in their two-point attempt, resulting in a loss at Lincoln Financial Field.
