Alternatively, he considered a life working with horses and animals, joking about his intelligence level at the time. “Rocky,” released in 1976, defied expectations with over $225 million in earnings, earning the Academy Award for Best Picture. Stallone’s portrayal propelled him into stardom and initiated an enduring franchise.

Living by Murphy’s Law

He attributes much of his “Rocky” success to abiding by Murphy’s Law, a principle suggesting “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” An example of this mindset occurs when Stallone stays in hotels. He meticulously counts the steps to the fire escape while accompanying his wife, Jennifer Flavin, ensuring preparedness in emergencies.
