Teens on E-Bikes Cause Disruption in Orlando

You can now listen to Fox News articles! Recently, hundreds of teenagers on e-bikes caused chaos in downtown Orlando, Florida, resulting in multiple charges, according to police.

The incident occurred earlier this month. Police stated that the large group posed a significant safety threat and caused traffic delays for nearby residents.

The Orlando Police Department shared a video on social media showing riders surrounding vehicles at intersections and blocking an ambulance, which had its lights flashing. The footage captured both bodycam and surveillance video of officers apprehending some of the riders.

The police department commented, “Reckless riding, running red lights, blocking traffic, and preventing emergency vehicles from responding poses a risk to everyone involved, including the riders.”

Another statement from the department emphasized that such dangerous actions would not be tolerated, asserting that officers would continue law enforcement efforts to maintain safety in downtown.

A spokesperson for Orlando police told FOX 35 Orlando, “Due to the group’s size and mobility, not all riders were immediately detained, but officers took enforcement action when it was safe to do so.” During the incident, a rider was seen performing a stunt at an intersection in front of an ambulance.

It remains unclear how many teenagers faced charges. The Orlando Police Department is committed to ensuring downtown safety for all citizens.
