A concert attendee suffered a fatal fall during a performance by the band Goose at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported the incident to Fox News Digital on Sunday.

The victim was a 51-year-old man who appeared to have fallen from the upper sections of the arena bowl, according to the NYPD. Officers arrived shortly before 10 p.m. in response to a 911 call about an injured individual at the venue.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 51-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive with injuries indicative of falling from an elevated position,” the NYPD stated.

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.

Fox 5 New York reported the man fell from the 300 level section of Madison Square Garden. This includes the venue’s balcony and upper-tier seating, positioned above the lower bowl and floor sections. The police noted that the man was attending the concert with his wife.

The incident occurred during the second night of Goose’s two sold-out events at Madison Square Garden. The band members—Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weekz, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis—expressed condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones. “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show,” the band stated. “We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”

MSG Entertainment conveyed their sadness over the loss of a fan. “While we await the police report on the tragedy at last night’s Goose concert, we are deeply saddened by the loss of a fan’s life at Madison Square Garden,” a spokesperson said. “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the concertgoer.”

Goose is set to perform next on Sunday night at SummerStage in Central Park, with the event sold out according to the band’s tour listings.
