Both Cornyn and Senator Thom Tillis are urging changes to Trump’s audit immunity and the anti-weaponization fund, which emerged from a settlement with the IRS announced by Blanche. Specifically, Cornyn seeks detailed amendments concerning Trump’s audit immunity within the settlement. Negotiations have faced difficulties due to perceived interference from higher levels within the White House. Cornyn mentioned additional challenges arose despite his belief that he and Todd Blanche were nearing an agreement.

Some lawmakers, including Cornyn and Tillis, continue negotiations with Blanche.
