During Game 3 of the NBA finals in New York City, President Trump was seen dozing off, much to the amusement of late-night hosts.
Jimmy Kimmel joked that Trump managed to become “the first sitting president to shut down a major United States city so he could take a nap in front of a sold-out crowd at the NBA finals.” Kimmel sarcastically referred to Trump as “Dozes Malone,” highlighting the taxpayer expense involved in his journey and noted, “who can fall asleep during the NBA finals at Madison Square Garden?”
In his segment, Jimmy Fallon humorously suggested that Knicks fans blamed the team’s loss on Trump’s nap. Fallon quipped, “Trump doesn’t want to be blamed, so today he called the NBA and demanded they ‘find’ five more points for the Knicks.”
Desi Lydic added her take, noting, “Sir, you can’t sleep through the game. You’re the president, not Game 3 referee Marc Davis.”
The event provided ample material for the comedians, showcasing their comedic interpretation of current events.
