Professional wrestling star Tessa Blanchard has announced her departure from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). On Tuesday, her request for release was approved, Fox News Digital confirmed.
Blanchard is expected to discuss her decision soon on Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s (CMLL) YouTube page, where she continues to perform. This marks a new chapter in her career as she transitions to opportunities with other wrestling organizations.
Her departure from TNA was first reported by Fightful Select. Known as one of the leading female wrestlers globally, Blanchard achieved notable rankings in Pro Wrestling Illustrated‘s listings, reaching as high as No. 5 in 2019.
“Blanchard is a third-generation pro wrestler, following in the footsteps of her father Tully Blanchard and her grandfather, promoter Joe Blanchard.”
She made history by becoming the first woman to win the TNA World Championship, in addition to holding the TNA Knockouts Championship during her tenure. Her career with TNA spanned from 2018 to 2020, and following a period with Women of Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, she rejoined TNA in 2024.
Recently, Blanchard formed alliances with Victoria Crawford and Myla Moore. She secured victories against known figures like Harley Hudson and Jody Threat in her most recent matches, showcasing her skill and talent in the wrestling ring.
The wrestling community is likely to keep a close eye on Blanchard’s next moves as she continues her career with other companies. Her family legacy and professional achievements set high expectations for her future endeavors.
