Cameron Brink Faces Another Setback in WNBA Career

1 week ago 0

The Los Angeles Sparks chose Cameron Brink as their No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The past two years have been challenging for the 24-year-old player.

Brink’s rookie season ended prematurely due to an ACL tear after playing just 14 games. This injury continued to impact her in the 2025 season. Although she returned to play on July 29, 2025, she was limited to participating in only 19 games.

With restored health, Brink aimed for significant progress in her third WNBA season. Unfortunately, another setback occurred during a 78-58 loss against the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“Cameron Brink began limping towards the bench and sat on the floor before reaching it,” reported ESPN’s Kendra Andrews from the match. “Her teammates assisted her to a seat. It’s uncertain what occurred. She paused in the corner briefly, but now walks off the court unaided.”

Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts stated, “She’s getting evaluated right now,” after the matchup. Reporter John W. Davis later informed that Brink has a left ankle injury and will miss the upcoming game against the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday.

Fans hope Brink’s time on the injury list will be brief.

So far, Brink has averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 assists over 14 games, contributing to the Sparks’ 7-7 record.
