4 days ago 0

Authorities in South Carolina announced the identification of Elena Moore’s body, who was reported missing on June 11. The discovery, confirmed on Friday, has brought a chilling end to the search for the 39-year-old woman.

Currently, the cause and manner of Moore’s death remain undetermined. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Saturday, with further details expected to be made public by Monday.

Moore’s body was located on Wednesday afternoon close to a gym in Lexington, where she was last seen departing on June 11. Lexington is a community of approximately 23,000 residents and is situated to the west of Columbia.

The initial identification was made based on a clothing description, as explained by Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green. He credited a tip, encouraged by media coverage, for leading to the discovery.

Investigators have not yet confirmed if there is any indication of foul play involved in her disappearance. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is currently responsible for the ongoing investigation into her death, although a department spokesperson has not offered any further comments as of Friday night.
