Plans have emerged for pop star Taylor Swift’s wedding to NFL player Travis Kelce, hinting at a grand multi-day event. The ceremony will take place outside Madison Square Garden in the heart of Manhattan, affecting local traffic and demanding high security measures.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) will lock down a city block near the venue. Madison Square Garden, expecting around 1,000 attendees comprising celebrities and VIPs, will serve as the backdrop for this high-profile event.

West 31st Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues will be closed on July 3. This closure is narrower than restrictions imposed during the NBA Finals, won by the New York Knicks earlier this month, which extended several blocks around Madison Square Garden.

On the actual wedding day, guests will enter a restricted reception tent during the cocktail hour to avoid public scrutiny. The wedding ceremony will begin in the evening, progressing into a reception lasting until early July 4. Reports suggest a lineup of illustrious performances throughout the celebration.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Times Square will host celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary, involving a unique ball drop occurring eight times to acknowledge midnight in each U.S. time zone.

The New York City Mayor’s Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management has endorsed these large-scale events, with the NYPD tasked with providing security and managing traffic.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, musical performances by Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will headline the wedding celebrations, with predictions of it outshining even the Met Gala, known for its expensive productions and security collaborations with NYPD.

A large truck was spotted unloading items shrouded in black plastic at the MSG, according to a photo acquired by Fox News Digital. Despite these preparations, the NYPD hasn’t provided further information.
