In recent years, a growing number of mothers over 40 have been experiencing substantial hormonal changes. These changes often come with challenging symptoms that affect their daily lives.
After giving birth in 2024, Jennifer Havey, a first-time mother at 44, faced a whirlwind of symptoms. She experienced mood swings and unexpected bouts of weeping, which were unusual for her. Additionally, Havey dealt with brain fog, often misplacing her phone and struggling to recall its location. Sleep disturbances also became a frequent issue.
Havey attributed these symptoms to the challenges of having a newborn and breastfeeding. However, when she stopped nursing after her son’s first birthday, she anticipated a relief from the mood swings, cognitive lapses, and erratic sleep patterns.
