Munetaka Murakami Highlights Performance in Rehab Game

Chicago White Sox’s Munetaka Murakami made a noteworthy appearance in his second rehabilitation game with Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. Murakami contributed offensively in a 6-3 defeat against Nashville. He went 1-for-4, tallying one RBI, a walk, and scoring a run.

Murakami’s run-scoring double occurred in the first inning, showcasing his batting capabilities. In subsequent innings, he flew out to left field in the third and popped out to shortstop in the sixth.

In the eighth inning, he demonstrated patience by drawing a walk and later advanced to score from second base on a single. The game concluded with Murakami grounding out to second base in the ninth inning.

Throughout two games with the Knights, Murakami has achieved a performance of 2-for-7, alongside an RBI and a walk. Sox manager Will Venable expressed optimism by sharing positive feedback regarding Murakami’s performance following Tuesday’s game. He mentioned Murakami’s effective recovery and strong on-field performance.

Murakami has been sidelined since May 30 due to a right hamstring strain suffered the previous evening. Venable noted that Murakami’s condition is still being evaluated day by day, indicating cautious optimism for his return.
