A tragic car accident over the weekend claimed the life of a 22-year-old social media influencer, along with another passenger. Authorities confirmed the incident on Monday.
Victims Identified
One of the deceased is Ayzia J. Toledo, a resident of the Philadelphia area. Toledo was well-known for her modeling and lifestyle content, using the online handle “AYZIA J.”
The car crash occurred late Sunday night on a freeway in New Jersey. Toledo, driving a BMW with two passengers, lost control and veered off the road in Deptford Township, approximately 12 miles south of Philadelphia. The car overturned and collided with a tree.
The New Jersey State Police explained that Toledo lost directional control, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and crashing. Both she and the front-seat passenger suffered fatal injuries.
Second Victim and Survivor
The second victim was identified as Henrietta F. Carter, also 22, from Darby, Pennsylvania. A third passenger, seated at the back, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
A Prominent Online Presence
Toledo had gained a substantial following on social media, especially on TikTok and Instagram. She shared beauty, fashion, and local content from the Philadelphia area. Her accounts had more than 300,000 followers, with significant numbers on both TikTok and Instagram.
“Ayzia was deeply loved by her family, cherished by her close friends, and admired by many throughout her community,” stated a GoFundMe page initiated in her memory.
The page noted that Toledo was building a promising future and mentioned her joining her mother and grandmother in Heaven.
Her followers filled her social media channels with tributes and expressions of sorrow following her untimely death.
