Investigation Continues in Lynette Hooker Disappearance Case

The U.S. Coast Guard has taken possession of the dinghy linked to the disappearance of Lynette Hooker in the Bahamas. Her daughter, Karli Aylesworth, expressed relief that searches for evidence are expanding.

Attorney Donna Rotunno highlighted concerns about the delay in seizing the dinghy, which may have compromised potential evidence. Lynette Hooker’s mother, Darlene Hamlett, challenges the account given by Lynette’s husband, Brian Hooker, about the incident.

Lynette Hooker disappeared on April 4 while vacationing in the Bahamas with Brian. The couple was reportedly boating near Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands. Brian claimed Lynette fell from their dinghy and was swept away by the current as they headed to their sailboat, Soulmate.

Despite Brian’s version, Lynette’s body remains undiscovered. Her mother believes Lynette managed to return to their sailboat and suspects foul play. Hamlett refrained from detailing how she arrived at this conclusion, citing restrictions on what she can publicly disclose.

The Soulmate is docked at a U.S. Coast Guard station in Fort Pierce, Florida. It was brought back from the Bahamas. Hamlett shared her frustrations over the investigation’s lengthy timeline, stating it was beyond her expectations.

The Coast Guard Investigative Service chose not to comment on Hamlett’s suspicions, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation. Attempts to contact Brian Hooker’s attorney have yet to yield a response.

In a Facebook post, Brian expressed his distress over the incident, asserting that strong winds and currents led to the tragic event. However, he insisted his efforts to rescue Lynette had been thwarted by natural elements.

Bahamian authorities questioned and released Brian, who has since returned to the U.S. without further public statements. No charges have been filed against him concerning his wife’s disappearance.
