Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has shared details about the final moments of Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina GOP senator who died on Saturday at the age of 71. Tuberville revealed that Graham experienced chest pains on the night of his passing. A staff member of Tuberville was present with Graham’s scheduler when Graham called, expressing his concerns. Graham reportedly said, ‘Listen, I’m having chest pains. You know, I need to do something,’” Tuberville recounted. When asked if Graham had called 911, he responded, ‘No, that’s the reason I called you.’

Emergency responders were dispatched to a Washington, D.C., location for Graham around 8:30 p.m. ET, following reports of chest pains. Graham’s office attributed his death to a ‘brief and sudden illness.’ Preliminary findings indicate an aortic dissection related to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as the cause of death.
