President Donald Trump shared a preview of the upcoming Freedom 250 Grand Prix, scheduled for next month on Washington, D.C.’s streets, through a new video on social media.
The video, one minute in length, was uploaded to Truth Social on Wednesday. It showcases IndyCar drivers racing on a track located on the National Mall. The footage also highlights iconic landmarks like the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument. Trump captioned the post with ‘FREEDOM 250 GRAND PRIX,’ accompanied by emojis of a race car, along with U.S. and checkered flags.
Earlier this week, on Monday, the president welcomed IndyCar drivers to the White House for an event aimed at promoting the race. This event is planned as a part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. Speaking to reporters, Trump stated, “It’ll be one of the most unforgettable racing events the world has ever seen.”
The Freedom 250 Grand Prix is set to take place on August 22 and 23.
