Clark expressed frustration with the referees, highlighting an uncalled foul by Kiah Stokes. “I got kneed right in the quad, like that hurts. The ref can’t miss that, and then I had to play with a contusion in my leg for the rest of the game,” Clark stated during a postgame press conference. “It’s ridiculous. Can’t miss calls like that.” She noted that the referee claimed she “initiated the contact,” resulting in no foul against Stokes.

Despite her grievances, Clark acknowledged Golden State’s strong defensive performance. “They’re in my grill. They’re probably the best defensive team in the league. They’re really good at that. I thought I finally played with a little more pace and a little bit more burst, especially down the stretch in the fourth,” she remarked.

Clark plays under a minutes restriction and occasionally sits out games due to an ongoing back injury. Concerns rise over physical play against her, given her recent incident involving Phoenix Mercury’s Alyssa Thomas. Following public outcry, the league upgraded Thomas’s action to a Flagrant Foul 2, suspending her for a game. Criticisms persist regarding how officiating affects Clark’s treatment on the court.

After this loss, Indiana’s record stands at 14-10. The Fever looks to bounce back against the Seattle Storm at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday. Their focus remains on improving performance and addressing officiating concerns.
