Mike Huckabee Addresses U.S.-Israel Relations Amid Right Wing Skepticism

6 days ago 0

Some individuals on the right question the U.S.-Israel relationship. U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee warns that this doubt stems from ‘biblical ignorance’ and a misunderstanding of the ‘America First’ principle.

In a discussion with Fox News Digital, Huckabee dismissed the notion that prioritizing America means neglecting allies. He emphasized that supporting Israel aligns with U.S. interests and religious beliefs of many Christians.

‘When I look at the things on the right what I see is that there’s biblical ignorance,’ Huckabee stated. ‘People who say, “you know, God has no longer got a promise that he’s keeping to the Jewish people,” and I’m thinking “well, that’s news to God because he doesn’t break a promise.”‘

Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and ordained Baptist minister, combines political and faith-based perspectives. He dismissed claims that Christians face challenges in practicing their faith in Israel. He regularly performs in his church band without issues.

Skepticism and hostility toward Israel have grown in some right-wing and media circles recently. Figures like Joe Rogan have criticized Israel, claiming guilt of severe actions in Gaza.

Huckabee expressed concerns beyond religious disagreements. He believes some conservatives misinterpret the ‘America First’ movement as pure isolationism.

‘There’s another thing on the right that I’m concerned about. People who say, “Look, I’m an America First person,” I say “I am too.” I was MAGA before anybody knew what MAGA was,’ Huckabee said. ‘America First has never meant America only.’

The ambassador stressed that U.S. interests extend globally, especially in countering threats. He highlighted Iran’s decades-long hostility toward America. Huckabee mentioned Iranian proxies globally, emphasizing the need for U.S. involvement abroad.

‘They’ve never changed their message that they want to murder us,’ Huckabee remarked. ‘So, when people tell you for 47 years their goal is to kill you, you’re pretty stupid if you don’t pay attention to that, and even more stupid if you do nothing about it.’
