Denise Richards Discusses Her Daughter’s Relationship with Charlie Sheen

2 hours ago 0

Denise Richards recently appeared on Bunnie Xo’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast where she spoke about her relationship with her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, and how it’s affecting their daughters. During the podcast, Bunnie suggested that Richards’ eldest daughter, Sami Sheen, is like Charlie’s “karma.” Richards agreed, saying, “You don’t have to cut it out,” responding with laughter.

Richards believes Sami, now 22, is the only one among Sheen’s children who will challenge him. “She gives him a run for his money,” Richards said. Bunnie added that Sami is the one who stands up to Charlie the most, something Richards noted as necessary.

“I wish I had her confidence when I was her age,” Richards said, though she expressed a desire for Sami to sometimes filter herself. Despite this, Richards admires her daughter’s honesty and self-assuredness.

Richards and Sheen were married from 2002 to 2006 and have two daughters, Sami and Lola. While Sami is active as a model on OnlyFans, her sister Lola, 21, is vocal about her Christian faith on social media. Richards highlighted their differences during the podcast, comparing them to her and her sister.

Speaking on her daughters’ upbringing, Richards mentioned the need for Sami and Lola to eventually have discussions about their childhood with Charlie himself. She protected her daughters from certain truths during their younger years, such as Sheen’s absence on holidays. “I wasn’t gonna tell them the truth,” she explained, emphasizing the need to shield them when they were too young to understand.

Richards stressed the importance of her daughters forming their own opinions of their father, free from public perception. She wished for them to know him as “dad,” not as the public figure dealing with addiction issues. Richards consistently encouraged any opportunity for the girls to spend time with Sheen when he was in a stable condition.

Reflecting on their relationship now, Richards described a more amicable co-parenting dynamic. “We have a great relationship,” she said, mentioning that Sheen lives nearby. Despite their past challenges, they support each other for the sake of their daughters.
